Frequently asked questions
Stuck on activation? The step-by-step guide covers it with screenshots. If your question is not here, ask us directly — we answer every message.
What exactly do I get when I buy?
A license code for the plan you chose, valid for one year from purchase. Every tool in TuneBit is unlocked — there is no higher tier holding features back, and no upsell inside the app.
What is the difference between Personal and Technician?
A Personal license is tied to the PCs you own: install TuneBit on a machine and it stays licensed. A Technician license is tied to a USB stick instead, so you can carry it between machines and run it on any PC you are servicing without licensing each one.
How many PCs can I use one license on?
One Personal license covers up to five computers you own or control. Need more, buy more — they all sit under one account. Technician licenses cover unlimited client PCs, since the license belongs to the stick rather than to any particular machine.
What happens when my year is up?
TuneBit keeps working on the version you have, but you stop receiving updates and the licensed tools lock until you renew. Renewing before expiry stacks another year onto your remaining time rather than restarting it, and your existing codes are re-issued automatically.
How do I actually enter my license code?
You copy it rather than type it. Press "Copy code" beside the code in your dashboard, then in TuneBit open Settings, scroll to License, click inside the "Enter a license code" box and press Ctrl and V to paste it. Then press Activate. A code is around 450 characters long, so typing it out by hand does not work — and a code that was only half copied is the usual reason one is refused. There is a step-by-step walkthrough with screenshots of every screen at https://tunebit.app/activate.php.
Can I move a license to a different PC or stick?
Yes. Remove the device from your dashboard to free the seat, then register the new one. There is no limit on how often you can do this.
Do I need to be online for TuneBit to work?
Almost never. Your license code is digitally signed and checked on your own PC, so every tool works offline. TuneBit confirms with us that your license has not been revoked every three days, and asks once a day whether a newer version has been published — that second one sends nothing about you at all, and can be switched off in Settings. Nothing else goes out unless you ask it to. If it cannot reach us it carries on for those three days and then asks you to reconnect, so a machine that goes online occasionally never notices. That is deliberate: a broken network is often the thing you bought TuneBit to fix.
Is anything bundled with the download? Does it send anything back?
No, and no. The installer installs TuneBit and nothing else — no toolbar, no antivirus trial, no pre-ticked third-party offer. The only extra it may fetch is Microsoft's .NET 10 Desktop Runtime, which TuneBit needs to start, and the portable build carries its own copy so it fetches nothing. The app itself sends no telemetry, analytics, crash reports or inventory of your machine: what it finds out about your PC is shown to you and stays there. The promise page on this site lists every network connection it does make, and how to verify each claim yourself.
What if a fix makes things worse — can I undo it?
Yes, and the safety net is on by default. Before it changes Windows settings, TuneBit takes a Windows System Restore point, so you can put the whole machine back the way it was from Windows' own System Restore dialog. It also keeps its own copy of anything it edits — registry keys exported as .reg files, driver packages, the hosts file — so a single change can be reversed without undoing the ones that worked. Deleted files are the exception: junk and duplicate cleanup delete permanently, which is why both show you the full list first and delete nothing until you press the button. The undo and rollback page walks through every step.
Which versions of Windows are supported?
Windows 10 version 1809 or later and Windows 11, on x64. TuneBit needs the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime and administrator rights, since many of its repairs touch protected parts of Windows.
How do refunds work?
If TuneBit does not do what you needed, contact us within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. No form to fill in and no questions beyond what went wrong, so we can fix it.
Do you store my card details?
Never. Payment happens entirely on Stripe's hosted checkout page — card numbers do not pass through our servers at any point. We only keep the order record and a Stripe reference.
Can I get an invoice or pay by purchase order?
Stripe emails a receipt for every order automatically. For invoiced billing, purchase orders or volume pricing, get in touch and we will set it up.
Still deciding?
Download it, run the diagnostics on the machine that is bothering you, and see what it finds.
